Custom Flat Pouches

Slim printed pouches for retail food

Starting around$0.280/eaConfigure for your price

A flat pouch is the simplest flexible format: front and back panels sealed on three sides, with no gusset and no base. What it gives up in shelf presence it returns in efficiency — it packs flat, hangs on a peg, stacks tightly in a case, and uses less film per unit than any other pouch format. For low-profile goods sold on a hook or in a shallow display, that is usually the right trade.

About Flat Pouches

A flat pouch — also called a three-side-seal or sachet-style pouch — is formed from two panels of film sealed along both edges and across the top. There is no bottom gusset, so it will not stand on a shelf on its own, and that is the point: it is designed for pegboard hooks, countertop displays, and densely packed cases rather than shelf-facing.

Because the construction is simple, a flat pouch uses less material and involves fewer manufacturing steps than a stand-up or flat-bottom pouch. At volume, that makes it the most economical flexible format available.

YaSeen manufactures your pouches after you approve the design and pricing, and your artwork and dimensions are recorded against your order for straightforward reordering.

When a Flat Pouch Is the Right Choice

Flat pouches suit a specific set of retail situations. If none of these describe your product, a stand-up or flat-bottom pouch will usually serve you better.

  • Pegboard or clip-strip retail — a hang hole turns the pouch into its own display.
  • Low-profile flat goods — jerky, dried fruit strips, single-serve portions, tea sachets.
  • Sample and trial packs — the lowest-cost way to put your brand in a customer's hand.
  • Case-packed food service — flat pouches fill a case with almost no wasted volume.
  • Included inserts — a flat pouch packs alongside a product without adding bulk.

Sizes & Capacity

Flat pouches are specified by panel dimensions rather than fill weight, because there is no gusset to absorb volume. Tell us what you are packing and how it is presented, and we will confirm dimensions against it.

Features

The flat format accepts a narrower feature set than gusseted pouches — there is no base to fit a zipper into — but the features it does take are the ones that matter most in flat retail.

  • Tear notch — a scored opening line at one or both ends.
  • Hang hole — a punched euro-slot or round hole for pegboard and clip-strip display.
  • Window — a clear panel or full clear face so the product shows through.
  • Barrier film — for oxygen- or moisture-sensitive contents.
  • Plain pouch — no added features, for the most cost-sensitive runs.

Printing & Finish

Flat pouches are printed across the full front and back panel, edge to edge. With no gusset to interrupt the surface, the artwork runs continuously.

  • Matte — soft, premium hand-feel.
  • Gloss — higher contrast and more vivid colour.
  • Soft-touch — a velvet-like matte finish.
  • Natural / uncoated — a rustic, tactile surface for craft positioning.

How Pricing Works

Flat pouches are the most economical flexible format, but the price still moves with size, barrier structure, features, finish, print coverage, and quantity. Larger runs lower the cost per unit.

Submit your configuration and a specialist returns pricing for your exact combination, including what the price covers — pouch, printing, features, freight, and artwork setup.

Artwork Requirements

Supply vector artwork for the cleanest print result, particularly if the same design will print across a range of pouch sizes.

  • Preferred: AI, EPS, SVG, or PDF — vector formats.
  • Acceptable: PNG or JPG at high resolution.
  • If you only have your logo, we can prepare the pouch layout for you.
  • A colour reference — hex code, Pantone number, or a physical sample — helps us match accurately.

Minimum Order Quantity

Minimums depend on the dimensions, the barrier structure, and which features are fitted. Tell us your target quantity in the configurator and we will confirm the actual minimum for your build.

Production & Delivery

These pouches are custom manufactured after you approve the design and pricing — they are not pulled from stock. The sequence is: configure your specifications, receive a free digital mockup, approve the design and pricing, manufacturing begins, then the completed order is delivered nationwide.

Reordering

Because your specifications and approved artwork are recorded against your order, reordering is a matter of confirming your previous configuration and quantity. Tell a specialist you are reordering and reference your previous project.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a flat pouch?+
A flexible pouch made from two panels sealed on three sides, with no bottom gusset. It does not stand on its own, which makes it ideal for pegboard display, tight case packing, and low-cost sample runs.
Can a flat pouch stand on a shelf?+
No. If your product needs to stand upright on a shelf, a stand-up pouch or flat-bottom pouch is the right format. Flat pouches are built for hooks, bins, and dense case packing.
Can I add a zipper?+
A resealable zipper is not available on a flat three-side-seal pouch — there is no gusset to fit it into. If resealability matters, a stand-up pouch is the appropriate format. Tear notches, hang holes, and windows are all available on flat pouches.
What sizes can I order?+
Flat pouches are specified by panel dimensions rather than fill weight. Tell us what you are packing and how it will be displayed and we will confirm dimensions with your quote.
Can I print my logo on the pouches?+
Yes. Full-panel printing across the front and back is available, with matte, gloss, soft-touch, and natural finishes. We review your artwork and send a digital mockup before production.
How much do custom flat pouches cost?+
Pricing depends on dimensions, material and barrier, features, finish, print coverage, and quantity. Flat pouches are the most economical flexible format, and larger runs reduce the cost per unit further. Submit your configuration for pricing on your exact combination.
What is the minimum order quantity?+
Minimum order quantity depends on dimensions, material, and fitted features. It is confirmed with your quote — we do not publish an unverified minimum.
Do you ship nationwide?+
Yes — completed orders are delivered to businesses across the United States. Freight is calculated as part of your quote based on your delivery location and order size.
What file format should my logo be in?+
Vector files are best — AI, EPS, SVG, or PDF — because they scale cleanly across every size in your range. High-resolution PNG or JPG also works.
Can I order flat pouches together with other packaging?+
Yes. Many customers combine flat pouches with case boxes, labels, and café or retail packaging in a single order, which reduces the number of suppliers they manage.

Production Time and Shipping Time Are Different

Production time is the time required to manufacture your packaging. Transit time is the time required to transport it to you. These are separate — a production window is not a delivery date, and every project's timeline is confirmed with your final quote.

Express

Best when speed matters most. Faster transportation may be available depending on the product, quantity, manufacturing location, shipment size, destination and carrier availability. Express transportation can cost significantly more than standard, and an exact transit time is confirmed with your freight quote.

Standard

Best when you want a balance between delivery cost and transit time. Standard freight is generally the more economical option when your schedule allows additional flexibility. Actual transit time and freight cost are confirmed with your final quote.

Large-volume freight

Larger orders are not handled as ordinary parcel shipments. Depending on size and destination this may involve palletized freight, LTL, air, ocean, partial-container (LCL) or full-container (FCL) arrangements. YaSeen determines the appropriate method for your actual project and quotes it accordingly.

If you are unsure, our team will recommend the option that best fits your deadline, quantity and destination once your project has been reviewed.
