Custom Greaseproof Paper

Printed sheets and liners that keep fried food presentable

Starting around$0.065/eaConfigure for your price

Greaseproof paper does two jobs at once: it stops oil from wicking out of fried and rich foods, and it gives you a printed surface exactly where the food sits. A branded basket liner turns a bare serving basket into a branded presentation, and a branded wrap sheet puts your logo in the customer's hands while they eat. Because it is consumed on every order and costs very little per unit, it is one of the few packaging decisions that reaches every customer for a fraction of a cent. Custom greaseproof paper suits restaurants, food trucks, burger and sandwich concepts, seafood and fried-chicken operations, and any menu built around baskets or wrapped handhelds.

About Custom Greaseproof Paper

Greaseproof paper is a dense paper stock that resists the passage of oil and fat. Where a normal sheet would let grease wick through and leave a translucent stain on a basket or a plate, greaseproof paper holds the oil on the food side and keeps the surface underneath looking clean. That is the functional job, and it is the reason the material exists as a separate specification rather than being interchangeable with any paper sheet.

The format decision shapes how the paper is used in service. Interleaved sheets are stacked so each one pulls free individually — that is the format for a wrap station where staff pick single sheets during a rush. Cut sheets are loose-stacked at a fixed size. A roll is continuous, for wrapping stations where staff tear or cut to length. Basket liners are pre-cut to a specific basket footprint so they drop in without trimming.

The printed surface is what makes it a branding product rather than a supply item. A repeating logo creates a patterned coverage that reads as a designed pattern rather than a single mark. A single logo placement keeps it clean and deliberate. Full-panel print covers the sheet with artwork, which suits a distinctive brand treatment. Color-matched paper with no logo is the option for operations that want the colored look without the print.

Formats & Sizes

The formats below cover the common service styles. Sheet sizing is confirmed against your actual basket or wrap dimensions rather than a nominal figure.

Sizing Your Liner

A basket liner has to be sized to the basket it lines. Too small and the food sits on the basket itself, which defeats the purpose. Too large and the paper bunches or overhangs the edge, which looks untidy and wastes material on every order.

Measure the basket's interior footprint and the height you want the paper to rise up the sides, and give us both. Where the same liner has to work across several baskets, tell us the range and we will confirm a size that covers them. Liner sizing is confirmed with your quote before production.

Print Coverage & Appearance

Print behaves differently on greaseproof stock than it does on coated packaging board. The surface is dense and slightly translucent, which means colors read softer and very fine detail is more likely to fill in. Bold marks, repeating patterns, and larger type reproduce most reliably.

Repeating logo coverage deserves a note, because it is the treatment most operations choose. A pattern needs enough spacing that the marks do not merge into noise, and enough repetition that the brand reads even when the sheet is partly covered by food. We will lay out the repeat during artwork review so you can see the density before production rather than after.

Why Operations Print Their Liners

A basket liner is seen at the exact moment the food is set down in front of the customer, which makes it one of the highest-visibility surfaces in the entire service. It is also seen by everyone at the table, not just the person who ordered.

The economics are unusual in a good way: liners are consumed on every relevant order, so the impression compounds daily, while the unit cost stays low enough that the decision is not really a budget question. For operations where the presentation of fried or handheld food matters, a branded liner changes how a plate reads at almost no cost per order.

How Pricing Works

Custom greaseproof paper is quoted per project rather than sold at a list price, because the cost moves with the sheet format, the size, how much print coverage your artwork uses, the paper stock, and the quantity you run.

These are high-volume items with a low unit cost, which is why we quote across volume tiers rather than a single flat figure. Submit your configuration and a specialist returns pricing for your exact combination, including what the price covers — paper, printing, delivery, and artwork setup.

Minimum Order Quantity

Minimum order quantity depends on the sheet format, the size, the paper stock, and the print setup your artwork requires, and is confirmed with your quote. Sheets and liners generally run in larger quantities than boxed packaging because the print setup amortizes across the run.

Tell us your target quantity in the configurator and we will confirm the actual minimum for your build.

Artwork Requirements

Vector artwork gives the cleanest result, because the file scales to any sheet size without losing edge quality — which matters when the same artwork runs across several formats.

  • Preferred: AI, EPS, SVG, or PDF — vector formats.
  • Acceptable: PNG or JPG at high resolution.
  • If you only have your logo, we can prepare the sheet layout for you.
  • For repeating patterns, we lay out the repeat and confirm density during review.
  • A color reference — hex code, Pantone number, or a physical sample — helps us match accurately.

Production & Delivery

Greaseproof paper is custom manufactured after you approve the design and pricing — it is not pulled from stock. The sequence is: configure your specifications, receive a free digital mockup, approve the design and pricing, manufacturing begins, then the completed order is delivered nationwide.

Production timing and freight depend on the sheet, quantity, and your delivery location, so they are confirmed as part of your quote rather than estimated here.

Reordering

Liners and sheets are consumed continuously, so they reorder on a predictable cycle. Because your format, size, and approved artwork are recorded against your order, reordering is a matter of confirming your previous configuration and quantity. Tell a specialist you are reordering and reference your previous project.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is greaseproof paper used for?+
It lines serving baskets and wraps fried and rich foods, stopping oil from wicking through onto the basket or plate. It is also used as a wrap sheet for sandwiches, burgers, and handhelds.
What is the difference between interleaved sheets and cut sheets?+
Interleaved sheets are stacked so each pulls free individually, which suits a wrap station during a rush. Cut sheets are loose-stacked at a fixed size, which suits basket liners and general use. Roll formats are continuous for high-volume wrapping.
How do I size a basket liner?+
Measure the basket's interior footprint plus the height you want the paper to rise up the sides, and give us both figures. Where one liner has to cover several baskets, tell us the range and we will confirm a size that works across them.
Is greaseproof paper the same as deli paper?+
They serve different jobs. Greaseproof paper is dense and resists oil, which suits baskets and fried food. Deli paper is a lighter interleaving sheet used for wrapping and separating. Tell us how you are using it and we will recommend the right stock.
What is the minimum order quantity?+
MOQ depends on the sheet format, size, paper stock, and printing, and is confirmed with your quote. Sheets and liners generally run in larger quantities than boxed packaging.
How much does custom greaseproof paper cost?+
Pricing depends on the format, size, paper stock, print coverage, and quantity, so we quote across volume tiers. Unit cost is low at typical volumes. Submit your configuration for pricing on your exact combination.
Can I print a repeating pattern of my logo?+
Yes — repeating logo coverage is the most common treatment. We lay out the repeat during artwork review and confirm the density so the marks read without merging into noise.
Do you ship nationwide?+
Yes — completed orders are delivered to businesses across the United States, with freight calculated as part of your quote.
Can I order greaseproof paper with my other packaging?+
Yes. Liners and sheets are frequently ordered alongside burger boxes, takeout boxes, napkins, food labels, and cup carriers so one delivery covers the whole menu.
What file format should my logo be in?+
Vector files are best — AI, EPS, SVG, or PDF. High-resolution PNG or JPG also works, and if you only have a logo file we can prepare the sheet layout for you.

Production Time and Shipping Time Are Different

Production time is the time required to manufacture your packaging. Transit time is the time required to transport it to you. These are separate — a production window is not a delivery date, and every project's timeline is confirmed with your final quote.

Express

Best when speed matters most. Faster transportation may be available depending on the product, quantity, manufacturing location, shipment size, destination and carrier availability. Express transportation can cost significantly more than standard, and an exact transit time is confirmed with your freight quote.

Standard

Best when you want a balance between delivery cost and transit time. Standard freight is generally the more economical option when your schedule allows additional flexibility. Actual transit time and freight cost are confirmed with your final quote.

Large-volume freight

Larger orders are not handled as ordinary parcel shipments. Depending on size and destination this may involve palletized freight, LTL, air, ocean, partial-container (LCL) or full-container (FCL) arrangements. YaSeen determines the appropriate method for your actual project and quotes it accordingly.

If you are unsure, our team will recommend the option that best fits your deadline, quantity and destination once your project has been reviewed.
