Custom Takeout Paper Bags

Branded carryout bags for restaurants and delivery

Starting around$0.250/eaConfigure for your price

A takeout bag has one job: get the order from the counter to the customer without spilling, sagging, or looking like it came from a supplier catalog. It is the last thing a customer touches, and for delivery orders it is often the only branded object that arrives with the food. A printed takeout bag turns that moment into brand reinforcement rather than a missed opportunity.

About Takeout Bags

Takeout bags sit in an awkward middle ground between food-service packaging and retail presentation. They need to be strong enough to carry a hot, heavy, sometimes wet order without the base giving out, and they need to look presentable when they arrive at a customer's door.

The construction that solves this is a flat-handle bag with a reinforced top turn and a folded base. Unlike a simple SOS bag, a handled takeout bag can be carried with one hand alongside a drink carrier, which is how most orders actually leave a restaurant.

YaSeen manufactures your bags after you approve the design and pricing. Your size, paper, and artwork are recorded against your order, which makes repeat runs straightforward.

Choosing the Right Takeout Bag

The right bag depends on what you serve and how it leaves the building. These are the configurations we build most often.

  • Small flat-handle bag — a single sandwich, a pastry box, or a small side order.
  • Medium flat-handle bag — the workhorse size for one- or two-person meals.
  • Large flat-handle bag — multi-item orders, family meals, delivery bundles.
  • Self-opening bag — where speed at the counter matters more than a handle, SOS-format bags pack faster.

Sizes & Capacity

Takeout bag sizing should follow your actual order mix, not a generic ladder. Tell us what a typical order contains and we will confirm dimensions against it.

Paper & Strength

Bag paper weight is what determines whether a heavy order survives the trip. Because takeout loads vary so much between businesses, we confirm the paper grade against what you actually pack rather than publishing one universal specification.

  • Natural kraft — warm, traditional, and the most common takeout paper.
  • White — brighter presentation and truer colour reproduction for detailed artwork.
  • Heavier paper grade — for hot, heavy, or multi-item orders, confirmed with your quote.
  • Custom brand colour — available by request.

Printing

Takeout bags carry print on one or both faces, and many restaurants use the second face for practical content — a menu, a social handle, or a reorder prompt.

  • One side — a single branded face. The most common and most economical choice.
  • Two sides — logo on the front, and menu, hours, or a social handle on the back.
  • Full coverage — artwork continuing across the gussets for a wrap-around effect.

How Pricing Works

Takeout bag pricing depends on the size, the paper grade, how much print coverage your artwork uses, and the quantity you run. Heavier paper and larger sizes cost more per unit, and a run of 5,000 sits at a different price from a run of 50,000.

Larger runs lower the cost per unit. Submit your configuration and a specialist returns pricing for your exact combination, including what the price covers — bag, printing, freight, and artwork setup.

Artwork Requirements

Supply vector artwork for the cleanest print result, particularly when the same design prints across several bag sizes.

  • Preferred: AI, EPS, SVG, or PDF — vector formats.
  • Acceptable: PNG or JPG at high resolution.
  • If you only have your logo, we can prepare the bag layout for you.
  • A colour reference — hex code, Pantone number, or a physical sample — helps us match accurately.

Minimum Order Quantity

Minimums depend on the size, the paper grade, and the print setup your artwork requires. Tell us your target quantity in the configurator and we will confirm the actual minimum for your build.

Production & Delivery

These bags are custom manufactured after you approve the design and pricing — they are not pulled from stock. The sequence is: configure your specifications, receive a free digital mockup, approve the design and pricing, manufacturing begins, then the completed order is delivered nationwide.

Reordering

Because your size, paper, and approved artwork are recorded against your order, reordering is a matter of confirming your previous configuration and quantity. Most restaurants consume takeout bags at a predictable rate, which makes scheduling repeat orders straightforward.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a takeout bag and an SOS bag?+
A takeout bag has a handle, usually flat paper, so it can be carried one-handed alongside a drink. An SOS bag is self-opening with no handle — it packs faster at the counter but must be carried from the base.
What sizes are available?+
Small, medium, and large bands covering single items through family orders, with custom dimensions by request. Because order profiles vary so much between businesses, tell us what a typical order contains and we will confirm sizing.
Will the bag hold a heavy order?+
We confirm the paper grade against what you actually pack rather than publishing a universal weight claim. Tell us your heaviest typical order and we will specify paper accordingly.
Can I print my menu or social handle on the bag?+
Yes. Two-side printing is common for exactly this — logo on the front, and a menu, hours, or a handle on the back so the bag works as a marketing surface.
How much do custom takeout bags cost?+
Pricing depends on size, paper grade, print coverage, and quantity. Larger runs reduce the cost per unit, so we quote across volume tiers. Submit your configuration and a specialist will return pricing for your exact combination.
What is the minimum order quantity?+
Minimum order quantity depends on size, paper grade, and printing. It is confirmed with your quote — we do not publish an unverified minimum.
Do you ship nationwide?+
Yes — completed orders are delivered to businesses across the United States. Freight is calculated as part of your quote based on your delivery location and order size.
Can I order takeout bags together with my containers?+
Yes. Many restaurants combine takeout bags with sugarcane containers, napkins, cutlery kits, and gloves in a single order, which reduces the number of suppliers they manage.
What file format should my logo be in?+
Vector files are best — AI, EPS, SVG, or PDF — because they scale cleanly across every bag size in your range. High-resolution PNG or JPG also works.
How do I reorder?+
Tell a specialist you are reordering and reference your previous project. Your size, paper, and approved artwork are already recorded against your order.

Production Time and Shipping Time Are Different

Production time is the time required to manufacture your packaging. Transit time is the time required to transport it to you. These are separate — a production window is not a delivery date, and every project's timeline is confirmed with your final quote.

Express

Best when speed matters most. Faster transportation may be available depending on the product, quantity, manufacturing location, shipment size, destination and carrier availability. Express transportation can cost significantly more than standard, and an exact transit time is confirmed with your freight quote.

Standard

Best when you want a balance between delivery cost and transit time. Standard freight is generally the more economical option when your schedule allows additional flexibility. Actual transit time and freight cost are confirmed with your final quote.

Large-volume freight

Larger orders are not handled as ordinary parcel shipments. Depending on size and destination this may involve palletized freight, LTL, air, ocean, partial-container (LCL) or full-container (FCL) arrangements. YaSeen determines the appropriate method for your actual project and quotes it accordingly.

If you are unsure, our team will recommend the option that best fits your deadline, quantity and destination once your project has been reviewed.
