Custom Sourdough Bread Bags

Long-format bags for artisan loaves

Starting around$0.240/eaConfigure for your price

Sourdough and artisan loaves are the hardest bakery items to package well. They are large, irregularly shaped, and the crust is the product — a bag that traps moisture turns a crisp crust soft within hours. These bags are sized for a full loaf and specified so the bread that leaves your counter is still the bread the customer cuts into.

About Sourdough & Artisan Bread Bags

A crust is a moisture balance. Sourdough comes out of the oven with a dry, brittle exterior and a moist interior, and the two are constantly trying to equalise. A sealed bag traps the escaping moisture against the crust, which is why bread wrapped too tightly in the wrong material goes leathery rather than staying crisp.

That is why artisan bread packaging is specified rather than picked. The paper, the closure, and whether the bag is vented or windowed all affect how the loaf presents hours later.

YaSeen manufactures your bags after you approve the design and pricing. Your size, paper, and artwork are recorded against your order, which makes repeat runs straightforward.

Format Options

There are three common ways to present an artisan loaf, and each suits a different retail setting.

  • Tall paper bag — a full-height bag, sometimes with a fold-over top, that the loaf slides into whole. The standard for takeaway bread.
  • Window bag — adds a clear panel so the scoring and crust are visible, which is what sells artisan bread in a display case.
  • Wrap and band — a paper wrap around the middle with a printed band. Leaves the crust exposed and reads as the most craft-forward option.

Sizes

Artisan loaves vary enormously, so sizing follows the bread rather than a generic ladder. Tell us your loaf dimensions and we will confirm the bag against them.

Paper & Presentation

The paper you choose is both a functional and a positioning decision — artisan bread packaging carries more of the brand story than almost any other bag in a bakery.

  • Natural kraft — the traditional artisan look. Warm, unbleached, and it reads craft immediately.
  • White — brighter and more contemporary, with truer colour for detailed artwork.
  • Grease-resistant grade — for loaves with oil, butter, or cheese in the crust.
  • Custom brand colour — available by request and confirmed with your quote.

Closure Options

How the bag closes determines how the loaf travels and how the customer handles it at home.

  • Open top — the loaf is presented and carried unwrapped at the top. Common for same-day consumption.
  • Fold-over top — the top folds over, holding the loaf without a tie.
  • Tin tie — a bendable strip so the bag can be reclosed. Useful when part of the loaf is eaten later.
  • Band or sleeve — a printed paper band around the middle as an alternative to a full bag.

How Pricing Works

Sourdough and artisan bag pricing depends on the size, the paper grade, whether a window is fitted, the closure, how much print coverage your artwork uses, and the quantity you run. Larger formats use more paper, which shows in the unit price.

Larger runs lower the cost per unit. Submit your configuration and a specialist returns pricing for your exact combination, including what the price covers — bag, window, printing, freight, and artwork setup.

Artwork Requirements

Supply vector artwork for the cleanest print result. Artisan bread bags are usually seen flat on a shelf or in a display case, so a bold, simple design reads better than fine detail.

  • Preferred: AI, EPS, SVG, or PDF — vector formats.
  • Acceptable: PNG or JPG at high resolution.
  • If you only have your logo, we can prepare the bag layout for you.
  • A colour reference — hex code, Pantone number, or a physical sample — helps us match accurately.

Minimum Order Quantity

Minimums depend on the size, the paper, and the print setup your artwork requires. Tell us your target quantity in the configurator and we will confirm the actual minimum for your build.

Production & Delivery

These bags are custom manufactured after you approve the design and pricing — they are not pulled from stock. The sequence is: configure your specifications, receive a free digital mockup, approve the design and pricing, manufacturing begins, then the completed order is delivered nationwide.

Reordering

Because your dimensions, paper, closure, and approved artwork are recorded against your order, reordering is a matter of confirming your previous configuration and quantity. Tell a specialist you are reordering and reference your previous project.

Who Orders Custom Sourdough Bread Bags

These are the businesses that most often order this packaging. We manufacture to your specifications regardless of your size.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the bag keep my crust crisp?+
Crust behaviour depends on the paper, the closure, and how long the loaf is bagged. Tell us your loaf and how it is sold, and we will recommend a paper and closure combination rather than making a general freshness claim.
What sizes are available?+
Standard boule, large boule and miche, and baguette formats are the bands we manufacture most often, with custom dimensions by request. Tell us your loaf dimensions and we will confirm.
Should I choose a window or a full paper bag?+
A window shows the scoring and crust, which is what sells artisan bread from a display case. A full paper bag is more economical and offers the largest print surface. Both are available.
Can I print my logo on the bags?+
Yes. One-side, two-side, and full-coverage printing are available, plus brand colour matching. We review your artwork and send a digital mockup before production.
How much do custom sourdough bags cost?+
Pricing depends on size, paper grade, window, closure, print coverage, and quantity. Larger runs reduce the cost per unit, so we quote across volume tiers. Submit your configuration for pricing on your exact combination.
What is the minimum order quantity?+
Minimum order quantity depends on size, paper, and printing. It is confirmed with your quote — we do not publish an unverified minimum.
Do you ship nationwide?+
Yes — completed orders are delivered to businesses across the United States. Freight is calculated as part of your quote based on your delivery location and order size.
Can I order bread bags together with other packaging?+
Yes. Many bakeries combine sourdough bags with bakery bags, cookie bags, food labels, and cake packaging in a single order, which reduces the number of suppliers they manage.
What file format should my logo be in?+
Vector files are best — AI, EPS, SVG, or PDF — because they scale cleanly across every bag size in your range. High-resolution PNG or JPG also works.

Production Time and Shipping Time Are Different

Production time is the time required to manufacture your packaging. Transit time is the time required to transport it to you. These are separate — a production window is not a delivery date, and every project's timeline is confirmed with your final quote.

Express

Best when speed matters most. Faster transportation may be available depending on the product, quantity, manufacturing location, shipment size, destination and carrier availability. Express transportation can cost significantly more than standard, and an exact transit time is confirmed with your freight quote.

Standard

Best when you want a balance between delivery cost and transit time. Standard freight is generally the more economical option when your schedule allows additional flexibility. Actual transit time and freight cost are confirmed with your final quote.

Large-volume freight

Larger orders are not handled as ordinary parcel shipments. Depending on size and destination this may involve palletized freight, LTL, air, ocean, partial-container (LCL) or full-container (FCL) arrangements. YaSeen determines the appropriate method for your actual project and quotes it accordingly.

If you are unsure, our team will recommend the option that best fits your deadline, quantity and destination once your project has been reviewed.
