Before you send artwork
Artwork standards and acceptance
We print custom packaging for businesses of every kind. So that nobody spends time preparing a design we cannot produce, here is what we accept, what we decline, and what happens when a design needs a closer look.
What we print
Almost every project falls here. If your artwork is one of these, there is nothing further to check.
- Your brand identity
- Logos, wordmarks, monograms, taglines and brand colour systems, in any language.
- Product and food imagery
- Photographs and illustrations of what you sell — coffee, tea, juices, smoothies, baked goods, meals, groceries and retail products.
- Patterns, textures and type
- Repeat patterns, abstract and geometric artwork, borders, typographic layouts and decorative illustration.
- Cultural and seasonal design
- Festive, seasonal, regional and culturally specific motifs and greetings, where the meaning is clear from the design.
- Narrative and lifestyle artwork
- Figures, animals, landscapes and scenes that support your brand story.
What we decline
YaSeen Packaging works to Islamic commercial principles, so we decline projects whose purpose is to promote the following. The list describes the intended USE of the packaging, not the imagery alone — a picture of a grape is not the same thing as a wine label.
- Alcohol promotion
- Packaging designed to sell or promote alcoholic drinks, including brewery, winery and distillery branding.
- Pork and pork products
- Packaging whose purpose is to promote pork or pork-derived products.
- Gambling and betting
- Casino, lottery, sportsbook, wagering and other games-of-chance promotion.
- Adult and sexually explicit content
- Pornography, sexualised imagery, and packaging for adult content or services.
- Recreational intoxicants
- Cannabis, recreational drugs, vaping and related paraphernalia promotion.
- Obscene, hateful or unlawful content
- Profanity, discriminatory or hateful messaging, harassment, and content that is unlawful to print.
These standards apply to the artwork and the intended use of the packaging. We do not refuse customers on the basis of religion, ethnicity, nationality, gender, disability or any other protected characteristic, and we welcome businesses of every background ordering packaging we can produce.
When a design needs a closer look
Some imagery is genuinely ambiguous — a still life that could be a juice or a cocktail, a scene where the meaning depends on context we cannot see. Those are flagged for a person to review and we will come back to you before anything is printed. Religious and culturally sensitive imagery is reviewed the same way. A design is never refused automatically because of the subject in it.
How artwork approval works
- 1You send your artwork with your project, or tell us you will send it later.
- 2A specialist reviews it against these standards and confirms the print specification.
- 3We send a free digital mockup of your artwork on the actual product.
- 4You approve the mockup. Nothing is manufactured before that approval.
Review happens before production begins. Where a project is declined after payment has been taken, the published cancellation and refund terms apply.
