Hot cups come in more than one build, and the difference is mostly about how the cup insulates and how much surface your artwork gets.
Single-wall
One paper wall. The drink is served with a separate sleeve, which is the usual way a single-wall cup is handed over.
The cup wall takes print, and the sleeve is a second printable surface.

Clear PET cups are the usual choice for cold beverage service because the drink stays visible, which is most of what sells an iced drink before the customer tastes it.
Colour and artwork sit on a transparent wall, so a design reads differently here than it does on an opaque paper cup. That is worth knowing before you approve a mockup rather than after.
The lid matters as much as the cup for cold drinks, because it decides what can sit on top. Flat lids stack and travel well, while dome lids leave headroom for toppings.
