About Custom Paper Bowls
A paper bowl is a wide, round container with a printed wall and a rolled rim, made to hold dishes that need surface area rather than depth. Salads, grain bowls, poke, and composed rice dishes all present better in a wide format. The ingredients can be arranged, and the customer sees the dish the way the kitchen intended it.
That presentation angle is why bowls are popular with the fast-casual end of food service. A bowl on a counter or in a delivery photo shows color, texture, and portion in a way a closed box or a narrow cup does not, and the printed wall around it frames the whole thing.
The wall is also a large, mostly uninterrupted print surface. Bowls take full-wrap artwork well, and because they are handled by the rim rather than the sides, the print stays clean through service.

Paper Bowl Capacity Guide
Paper bowl capacity is normally decided by the dish rather than by appetite. A side salad and a poke bowl are not the same container problem even when the names suggest a similar portion, because the dish changes how much of the bowl volume is actually used. Leafy salads sit loosely with air between the leaves. Grain bowls and poke pack down. A hot prepared meal fills differently again.
The capacities below are the ones most often ordered, and the third column connects each one to the dish it usually holds. Larger formats are commercially established in this category, so a bigger bowl is a request rather than an exception.
One thing worth separating out early: capacity and rim diameter are different measurements. Two bowls can hold the same amount and have different rims, which means the same lid will not fit both. That is a separate decision from size, and it is covered below.
Bowl Size, Capacity, and Rim Are Three Things
This is the part of buying bowls that causes the most trouble, and it is worth reading before you order. A bowl is described by its capacity, which is how much it holds. The lid, though, does not attach to the capacity. It attaches to the rim. Those are two separate measurements, and two bowls with the same capacity can have different rims.

That means a bowl and lid bought as the same size can still not fit. This usually surfaces in the worst place, which is on the line during service, with a bowl already filled. It is also the reason a capacity label is not enough to match a lid to a bowl you already hold.
The second measurement worth knowing is depth. Two bowls can hold the same volume with different depths: one wider and shallower, one narrower and deeper. Shallow bowls present a composed dish better, which is why salads and poke are usually served in them. Deeper bowls hold more liquid and suit soup and hot dishes.
