The Panel Layout Is the Point

A flat-bottom pouch is folded so the filled pack presents a rectangular face rather than a curved one. Where a stand-up pouch gives you a front panel that bows outward as the gusset opens, a flat-bottom holds the front and back flat and adds two flat side panels.

That changes what artwork can do. A design that has to survive being wrapped around a curve can be built instead for a flat surface, which holds fine detail, tight registration and small type more reliably. The side panels are usable print area too, which is where the format earns its place in premium coffee and specialty food: a full wrap can carry brand on the front, information on the back, and the story or the range across the sides.

There is a cost. More panels mean more film and more folding than a stand-up pouch of comparable capacity, so a flat-bottom is usually the more expensive of the two. It earns that difference when the pack is sold on presentation, and less so when it is sold on price.

Dimensions Follow the Product, Not the Weight

A pouch size is a set of measurements. A capacity is a weight of product. They are not interchangeable, because the weight a given pouch holds depends on what goes into it: twelve ounces of ground coffee and twelve ounces of puffed snack occupy very different volumes.

That matters more in this format than in most, because a flat-bottom pouch depends on being filled enough to hold its rectangular base open. An underfilled flat-bottom does not sit squarely, which is exactly the property the format is bought for.

So we size from the product. The table below maps a selling situation to a format; every figure is confirmed against your actual product before manufacturing, and the variables that settle the dimensions are listed under it.

Custom and Other Configurations

Panel count, gusset depth, base shape and closure are all manufactured to a specification, so a configuration that is not listed is usually a question of confirming it rather than whether it can be made.

Flat-bottom pouches accept the same feature set as other flexible formats, and each one adds cost. Fit only what your product and customer need.

Free Digital Mockup and Optional Physical Sample

Before anything is manufactured, you receive a free digital mockup showing your artwork on the pouch you have specified at the size, the barrier structure, the fitted features, the finish and the print coverage you chose. There is no charge for it and no production order is required to receive it. On a flat-bottom pouch the mockup matters more than on most formats, because this construction has four printable panels rather than one, and the mockup is the only place you see how the design turns the corner from the front face onto the side gusset before anything is printed.

It is also where the finished presentation is judged. A flat-bottom pouch holds its shape rigidly once filled, so the pack does not settle or slump the way a bottom-gusseted pouch can, and the mockup is what tells you whether the design reads the way you intended at the size you have chosen. An optional custom physical sample can be produced after artwork approval, and the sample fee is credited back toward your production order if you proceed.

Artwork Requirements

Supply vector artwork for the cleanest print result. Vector files scale across your size range without losing edge quality, and flat-bottom pouches reward that because the print panel is large enough to show detail.

• Preferred: AI, EPS, SVG, or PDF, vector formats.
• Acceptable: PNG or JPG at high resolution.
• If you only have your logo, we can prepare the pouch layout for you.
• A color reference (hex code, Pantone number, or a physical sample) helps us match accurately.

Production & Delivery

These pouches are custom manufactured after you approve the design and pricing. They are not pulled from stock. The sequence is: configure your specifications, receive a free digital mockup, approve the design and pricing, manufacturing begins, then the completed order is delivered nationwide.
